Retreat in Daily Life is an Ignatian program that aims to help retreatants build a habit of daily prayer and reflection. Beginning on Ash Wednesday each year, retreatants reflect on the readings of the day together with the retreat material. Each retreatant is assigned a spiritual director with whom they meet at least once a week.
If you are:
- looking to fall into a deeper relationship with God
- in need of some quiet moments in a busy world
- trying to build a daily habit of prayer and reflection
then RDL is for you. Register today using the form below.
If you have experience with spiritual direction we would love to have you on our team this year. As a spiritual director, you will guide retreatants through this year’s material and help them discern how God is speaking to them in their current life situations. This is a fulfilling experience for anyone with a deep desire to do help others encounter God.

This is what past retreatants have to say about the experience:
For me, the RDL was an intense program but somehow it helped me to develop a relationship with God. It opened my eyes to seeing God in everything.
Panashe, RDL 2023, 2024
I admit that life can feel like a constant torrent, a relentless rush of tasks, and deadlines. When one of my companions suggested to me to try directing some people in a Retreat in Daily Life, I wasn’t sure of how it would fit into the already packed landscape of my days especially as a student. I imagined the experience as something I wouldn’t accommodate and I didn’t expect the subtle, yet profound, ripple effect it would have on my daily life.
Eusébio Mariano, director since 2022
I felt the sense and meaning of how we injure God by injuring the environment. I felt the link between being interconnected to God and being connected to the environment, I felt that two are distinct but inseparable. I made a resolution to commitment to the professional approach to the cry of the voiceless, in voicing their justice as well as care of the earth.
Adriano Chavala SJ, director 2024
[T]he RDL really helped me, as a [retreatant], to RETURN to the Lord [a]nd to be conscious of His presence in the [normality] of my everyday life.
Charlene Makuzha, since 2022
I have attended a number of RDLs from 2018. It’s my yearly one on one time retreat with God. The experience is different every year with the guide of the spiritual guides. I did have moments I didn’t finish the journey. Last year I did manage to finish my RDL and with it, I received healing, peace and joy I had been looking for. I look forward to the journey this year as I am hopeful for what I shall encounter this time.
